I find it funny how I seem to have set stencils in my head for various things, guidlines to how things look - but sometimes they haven’t been updated in years.
Ola Salo is a good example.
The fella has had an active part of my consciousness the last ten years. I’ve followed his phases and metamorphosi(/s?- I really don’t know the plural of this. Is it like cacti?) with curiosity and interest. Still my visual guide of him is set on what he looked like around 2005! I never draw him with the beard, and I can’t make it look like him when I try draw him with short hair.
Do you have any fixed mental stencils for people? Have you experienced something similar? Let me know!
Classic Times, Crazy Days!
I started on this project last year with the intention of making a short animated clip. After months of angsting and postponing, I realized that the only way I would be able to actually make something of the sketches and ideas I had was to make a poster.
And here’s the result!
Posting it here for safe-keeping instead of in the actual portfolio, since that one will go through some changes and I’m not sure I’d be able to keep the same permalink to it.
